Packing for South America
Packing for South America can seem as daunting as hiking Machu Picchu, but with a good Sherpa (read: packing list), anything is possible!
For ease of getting around, we definitely recommend taking a backpack vs a suitcase. Spend the money on one with a good harness and have it fitted by a professional. If you're a neat freak like us, consider using packing cubes to organise your packing!
Whether you’re going for three weeks or three months, the important thing to remember is to pack light. You’ll thank us later!
Follow our comprehensive packing lists (for either Spring/Summer or Autumn/Winter), which are designed to get you from the Inca ruins of Machu Picchu to the Sambadrome in Rio de Janeiro (without washing for a week)! They worked for us!
Don’t forget to leave the expensive jewellery and electronics at home.
